Finishing changes feel, protection, attention and cost.
Use decorative effects deliberately. The strongest packaging and print often combines one or two well-chosen finishes rather than every available process.
SURFACE PROTECTION
Lamination & coating.
- Matte lamination for a restrained, low-glare surface
- Gloss lamination for higher sheen and colour punch
- Soft-touch lamination for a tactile premium feel
- Aqueous / varnish options where suitable
- Protective coatings selected for the end-use environment
HIGHLIGHT EFFECTS
UV & varnish.
- Spot UV to contrast selected graphics against a matte surface
- Raised or texture effects where the process and substrate allow
- Overall varnish for surface protection and finish control
- Registered effects requiring accurate artwork and production alignment
METALLIC & TACTILE
Foil, embossing and debossing.
- Hot foil in metallic or pigment colours
- Embossing to raise selected elements
- Debossing to press elements into the surface
- Combination effects such as foil plus emboss where appropriate
- Blind emboss / deboss without printed colour
SHAPE & CONSTRUCTION
Die-cutting, folding and binding.

ARTWORK NOTE
Special finishes need production-ready separation.
Foil, UV, emboss, cut and crease elements should be supplied or created as clearly named vector layers / spot separations so there is no ambiguity at production.
